Electrician in the San Fernando Valley
The Valley is about 1.8 million people, and most of it was built in the same 25 years. We come over the hill from Mid-City for panel upgrades, EV chargers, rewiring, lighting and repairs from North Hollywood to West Hills, including the separate cities of Burbank, Glendale and San Fernando.

What we see in Valley homes
Most of the Valley was farmland until the war. Between 1945 and 1975 it filled with single-story ranch tracts, and that's still most of the housing. Sherman Oaks, Studio City and Encino have older and larger homes; Van Nuys, Panorama City, North Hills and Reseda are the big post-war tracts; Northridge, Porter Ranch and West Hills came in the 60s and 70s.
The 1950s tract pattern is a 100A panel, often Zinsco, a pool, central air added in the 80s, and now a charger. Aluminum branch wiring shows up in late-60s homes. Duplexes and dingbat apartments along the boulevards have original meter banks. ADUs are everywhere in the Valley, and almost every one needs a panel upgrade or a subpanel.
Permits and utilities in the Valley
It's not one city. Most of the Valley (Van Nuys, Sherman Oaks, North Hollywood, Reseda, Northridge, Woodland Hills, West Hills, Sylmar, Sun Valley) is the City of Los Angeles: LADBS permits from the Van Nuys office, LADWP for power. Burbank and Glendale are separate cities with their own building departments and their own municipal utilities, Burbank Water and Power and Glendale Water and Power. The City of San Fernando permits its own work and is served by SCE. We know which counter to go to.
Express permits for panels, chargers and rewires are available for LA addresses. The municipal utilities each have their own meter spot and release steps and their own EV rebates.

Questions from this area
Which permit office covers my Valley address?
If you get an LADWP bill, it's LADBS Van Nuys. Burbank, Glendale and San Fernando have their own. Tell us the address and we'll know.
Do you do ADU electrical in the Valley?
Yes: panel upgrades, subpanels, and the ADU's own circuits, permitted with the ADU.
How long does it take you to get over the hill?
It depends on the 405 and the 101, like it does for everyone. We schedule Valley jobs in blocks and give you a real window.
